Premium Residency
Saudi Premium Residency (PR) offers long-term stability for investors and founders. The business route allows eligible company owners to apply without the SAR 800,000 investment requirement under the financial solvency track, with each partner submitting a separate application and undergoing individual background checks.
Business Route Eligibility
You need an active Saudi business license, Commercial Registration, and evidence of genuine business activity. Each partner in a multi-owner company submits a separate PR application, with shared company documents but individual passports, iqama details, dependent information, and background information reviewed separately.
Approval depends on each applicant’s profile and background assessment by the Premium Residency Center. NovaVertex assists eligible applicants with the application process and supporting documentation.

Timeline and December 2025 Rules
The stated processing period is 90 working days, which can typically translate to around 4.5–5 months in practice. December 2025 introduced updated rules affecting dependents — spouses and children may qualify for Premium Residency even when they are not under the applicant’s iqama sponsorship, depending on the individual case.
Premium Residency removes annual iqama fees for the holder. Exit and re-entry requirements also differ, giving PR holders greater travel flexibility compared with standard iqama holders.
Financial Solvency vs Investor Route
The SAR 800,000 financial solvency route requires demonstrating sufficient funds and meeting the applicable capital requirements in Saudi Arabia. If an application is rejected, the funds are not forfeited and remain protected. For active entrepreneurs, the business route may be a more practical option.
Special Talent PR holders may also establish companies, while entrepreneur and general license options should be evaluated based on the applicant’s business structure and requirements. Schools and education businesses can also be established subject to the applicable licensing and regulatory approvals.
